In Season 1, a group of friends from Boston are shaken up when one of them, Jon, commits suicide, stepping off the ledge of a building in the opening scenes of the first episode. It was full of heartfelt moments and big on sentiment, and received more than one comparison to This Is Us.
Starring Allison Miller, Christina Moses (from The Originals), Christina Ochoa, Grace Park (from Battlestar Galactica), James Roday (from Psych), Tristan Byon and Lizzy Greene, it’s something of a small-screen ensemble cast that delivers deeply emotional performances.
Expect more of the same in Season 2, as Delilah (Jon’s widow, played by Stéphanie Szostak) goes into labour and Eddie (David Giuntoli from Grimm) confesses to his wife that he’s the father of Delilah’s baby. Turns out that Jon had a vasectomy, but not all his friends knew that. These are hardly the biggest confessions in a season peppered with revelations.
The good news is that AMLT has already been renewed for a third season, so throw yourself into the melodrama and all the feels.
