A Perfect Planet
IMDb rating: 9.2/10
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 100%
“This year, perhaps more than ever, people are finding comfort and solace in the natural world. Whilst we may not be able to travel, we can take a few moments to enjoy our wonderful and diverse planet in this incredible footage,” says Sir David Attenborough, introducing the new BBC documentary series A Perfect Planet.
This six-episode series is an overview of how four essential systems – weather, ocean currents, solar energy and volcanoes – drive, shape and support all life on Earth. The fifth episode focuses on the human impact on the natural world, and how we can restore its balance. Four years in the making, A Perfect Planet features beautifully shot scenes of animals and nature, backed up with natural history and earth sciences, as explained by Sir David.
The Independent UK calls A Perfect Planet “A near-perfect programme”, and The Telegraph writes “This was a sobering hour about the fragility of our world but it ended on an optimistic note. Environmental equilibrium can be recovered if we act fast.”
New episodes land on BBC Earth and can be streamed on DStv online every Sunday.
