In the latest season of this hit comedy series, we return to the Johnson home after a summer of change. Junior is striking out on his own, managing social media for Migos, and the twins start eighth grade.
As the season progresses, with Junior still at home, Dre and Bow come to realise that perhaps they’re being taken advantage of, and decide to take matters into their own hands. Bow gives some lessons on feminism to Diane and Ruby, and Dre gets the shock of his life when Pops arrives for Christmas, full of holiday cheer.
As Slate said after Season 1, “Black-ish is about the upper-middle-class black experience, but it refuses to oversimplify the place that oversimplifications have in our hearts.” It continues to shine in Season 6.
Looking for earlier seasons? Black-ish Seasons 1 to 3 are now on Showmax, as is the first season of the spin-off Grown-ish. The second spin-off, about Bow’s upbringing, Mixed-ish, is currently streaming on DStv Now.
