Close Enough S1
IMDb rating: 8.0/10
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 100%
Critics have nothing but praise for this comedy series that follows an unusual group of Angelinos. Josh and Emily are a married couple who live with their divorced best friends, Alex and Bridgette, along with their five-year-old daughter, Candice, in a cramped apartment on the east side of LA.
They’re dealing with the changes in their marriage and libidos now that they’re in their 30s, the stress that comes with having a school-going child, and they daily grind of parenting, making a living and trying to have something resembling a social life. And there are also unicorns.
AV Club says, “Combined with the truth of a lost social contract allowing a clear path to stability and security, Close Enough has the potential to be a defining show of the 2020s.”
Decider writes that, “Unlike Regular Show, Close Enough consistently channels its random energy and silly characters to make a bigger, more interesting point.”
