David Attenborough: A Life On Our Planet (2020)
In this awe-inspiring documentary, Sir David Attenborough discusses humanity’s impact on nature and the actions we can take to save the planet.
The film also reminds us of the enormous impact Attenborough himself has had on our lives through the years. As the Independent (UK) review says, “I found it unexpectedly moving, not only for the loss on the Earth, but for the amount of my own life I can measure in Attenborough documentaries.”
He’s an extraordinary filmmaker, a “mediator between humans and the natural world”, writes The New York Times, and if Attenborough can’t drive home the enormity of the task ahead of us to save the planet, then no one can.
Times (UK) says it best: “Environmental catastrophe can be hard to convey in emotional ways. The scale of it can be deadening. Hearing it from Attenborough, however, gives the message stirring intimacy as well as authority.”
