HBO’s Game of Thrones S8 has a launch date
HBO announced over the weekend that, in exactly three months’ time, the highly anticipated eighth season of HBO’s Game of Thrones will hit viewers’ screens around the world.
All we know about the season so far is that it will consist of six episodes, and that it will be the final instalment of the smash-hit drama. (Though it won’t be the last we see of the Game of Thrones universe, with several spin-off series in development.)
Check out the latest teaser, set in the burial vault beneath Winterfell.
*Update: The full boxset of Game of Thrones S1-8 is ready to be binge-watched on Showmax.*
Think back to Season 1 – would you ever have predicted that at the end of the epic, of all the Stark heirs who would end up holding the North, it would be Jon Snow, Sansa and Arya? (Though, actually, let’s be honest, Arya had the fire in her from day one.)
Besides giving us chills, this teaser serves to remind us how much has changed in the seven seasons we’ve seen so far – the terrifying new foes we’ve met, the incredible rise of some unlikely heroes, and the gripping way everyone’s destinies have unfolded right before our eyes.
For a reminder of the ice and the fire and everything our heroes have been through in all previous seasons of Game of Thrones, stream Seasons 1 to 7 on Showmax. You’ve got three months until Season 8 arrives.
