Lost in Space S2
IMDb rating: 7.2/10
Rotten Tomatoes rating: 75%
After veering off course in Season 1, the Robinsons find themselves stranded on a mysterious ocean planet seven months later, lightyears from their original destination. Their craft, Jupiter 2, has crashed, they’ve lost the Robot they saved, and have to work together to reunite with the other colonists. They’re still stuck with their stowaway Smith, played by Parker Poser in a scene-stealing role, and though she’s lost the title of Doctor, she’s just as manipulative and cunning as ever.
In Season 2, Maureen and John, and their children Judy, Will and Penny, come up against extreme danger in their battle to survive in hostile, unchartered territory, and their adventures make for entertaining family viewing – in that sense, the new season is not all that different from the first.
AVClub writes, “The new batch of perfectly adequate episodes finds the Robinsons once more MacGyvering their way through a series of obstacles and otherwise trying to contact the Resolute, the mothership that holds the rest of the 24th colonist group …
“The emotional terrain remains firmly in place as stunning new landscapes on desert planets come into view …
“You won’t get lost in Lost in Space, but the family-friendly adventures of the Robinsons still make for solid viewing.”
