Amazon Originals to stream on Prime Video in South Africa in July 2022

If you love Chris Pratt, you'll love one of the Prime series hitting your screens this month. The movie line-up's not too shabby, either!

It’s hard to pick the title we’re most excited about on Prime this month – but if we had to choose, we’d go with the eye-opening Australian series about Aboriginal football players, Warriors on the Field. Yellowjackets fans should check out Paper Girls, coming on 29 July.

The Terminal List | 1 July | Amazon Original Series

Chris Pratt stars as a navy seal searching for the truth after his platoon is ambushed on a covert mission. New dark forces are working against him, as he discovers the enemy is much closer to home. Based on the novel by Jack Carr.

Also try:

  • Bosch
  • Vigil
  • Condor

Warriors on the Field | 8 July | Amazon Original Series

Directed by award winning director Professor Larissa Behrendt (Eualeyai, Kamillaroi), the documentary offers compelling insight that explores the deeply personal and poignant stories of three Indigenous AFL players and celebrates Aboriginal Australia and its association with the Australian Football League.

Featuring Australian Rules Football players Michael O’Loughlin, Michael ‘Sonny’ Walters, and Tarryn Thomas, Warriors On The Field celebrates Aboriginal Australia and its long history and association with the AFL.

Also try:

  • Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty
  • Two Sides
  • Chasing the Sun

Don’t Make Me Go | 15 July | Amazon Original Movie

When single father Max (John Cho) discovers he has a terminal disease, he decides to try and cram all the years of love and support he will miss with his teenage daughter Wally (Mia Isaac) into the time he has left with her. With the promise of long-awaited driving lessons, he convinces Wally to accompany him on a road trip from California to New Orleans for his 20th college reunion, where he secretly hopes to reunite her with her mother who left them long ago.

A wholly original, emotional and surprising journey, Don’t Make Me Go explores the unbreakable, eternal bond between a father and daughter from both sides of the generational divide with heart and humour along for the ride.

Also try:

  • The Father
  • A Million Little Things
  • Inconceivable

Anything’s Possible | 22 July | Amazon Original Movie

Directed by Billy Porter and written by Ximena García Lecuona, Anything’s Possible is a delightfully modern coming-of-age story that follows Kelsa, a confident high school girl who is trans, as she navigates through senior year.

When her classmate Khal gets a crush on her, he musters up the courage to ask her out, despite the drama he knows it could cause. What transpires is a romance that showcases the joy, tenderness, and pain of young love.

Also try:

  • The Sex Lives of College Girls
  • (S)he
  • Transhood

Paper Girls | 29 July | Amazon Original Movie

It’s the day after Halloween in 1988 when four young friends accidentally stumble into an intense time war and find themselves inexplicably transported to the year 2019.

When they come face-to-face with their adult selves, each girl discovers her own strengths as together they try to find a way back to the past while saving the world of the future.

Also try:
