Where to start! Claire and Jamie (Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan) are back, and you can expect the same as the previous seasons – gorgeous romance, tender moments to have your hearts aflutter, balanced with utter violence and gore and vile scenes that include murder and rape. It’s a delicate balance that Outlander has perfected, just the right amount of each to keep the tale true to the time, yet keep fans coming back. Plus, Claire is going to be using her “modern-day” medical skills to good use to save lives way, way back in the 1700s, while Jamie holds the fort at Fraser’s Ridge.
Liz Shannon Miller from collider.com hints that skipping Diana Gabaldon’s novels might be a benefit. “Without reading the books, to which the show has been relatively faithful, it’s hard to anticipate what is to come (so you’ll be on the edge of your seat).”
