In Migo’s world, all yetis know that humans are a myth. They obviously don’t exist. No one in his mountaintop village above the clouds has ever seen one. And if they existed, someone would have seen one, right?
But when Migo strays outside of the bounds of the village, he sees a plane crash and makes an incredible discovery – humans are real! Of course, nobody at home believes him because he has no proof – and then he gets banished as punishment for lying.
This is when he meets the members of the ragtag Smallfoot Evidentiary Society, who do believe him, and, even better, are willing to help him prove to the villagers that the Smallfoot is real.
Migo and the SES embark on an adventure down the mountain to retrieve a human being to take back to the village. Migo meets the once-famous documentary filmmaker Percy Patterson, who is just as astonished to discover that yetis are real as Migo is to make a real-life Smallfoot friend.
This movie for all ages was described by critics as “heartfelt” and “much deeper than it appears to be”. Entertainment Weekly wrote, “Beneath the easy slapstick, there’s a timely moral too: Don’t fear the unknown, embrace it. Just try not to squish it.”
