Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are strapped with every holy relic imaginable for a final season of heaven-versus-hell war, and it’s not going to be pretty thanks to a zombie horde. Don’t expect Walking Dead-style rotting flesh – the main battle is still going to be fought up in heaven.
So here’s what to expect – the truth about God’s possible demise, the brothers in the Garden Of Eden, insight into their mom Mary’s death (wrapping up so many storylines from all the way back in Season 1) and a couple of other secrets that we don’t know about yet because the season’s filming was halted by Covid-19. And a killer rock soundtrack, duh.
It will be epic though, says Mae Abdulbaki at cinemablend.com: “The ending is an ending. It’s not a ‘to be continued’. That makes sense. Supernatural’s longevity has made it a standout, but after 15 seasons and a tumultuous journey for Sam and Dean, it doesn’t need to end on a cliffhanger or anything. How the series will end is anyone’s guess – just don’t expect Sam to get a rom-com ending.”
