His voice became that of a generation of white struggle activists in South Africa in the 1980s who rebelled against conscription, against apartheid, and against the violence and terror of the Nationalist government. James Phillips tragically passed away in 1995 at the age of 36, but his music and his message lives on in this excellent documentary.
