The Unicorn S1
Wade Felton lost his wife a year ago and is struggling to get back on his feet after the most difficult 12 months of his life. He quickly realises he’s nowhere near ready to raise his two girls on his own, and is equally apprehensive about starting to date again.
Walton Goggins (who you’ll recognise from The Righteous Gemstones, now on Showmax) stars as Wade, and RogerEbert.com says, “Of course, we shouldn’t be surprised that Walton Goggins can anchor a family sitcom. He’s a great actor, that’s what great actors do.”
Other critics were similarly positive about the series, with Newsday writing, “Goggins is good in this sitcom, surrounded by a solid cast that works hard to sand the edges. He does too. When he pulls out a frozen parm, the last of the dinners he got after the death of his spouse, he starts to tear up”, and IndieWire calls it “the type of series that’ll make parents happy they don’t have to drive to the theater for their dinner-and-a-show date night.”
New episodes land on DStv Now every Saturday night.
